Hare Krsna to all
All glories to Srila Prabhupada-the one who is guiding us thru the morass
of the dregs of this kali yuga...
The first cauliflower of this season-may not seem like a big deal to those who go to
some store and buy them , but for those of us who are trying to eat only what
we grow, this IS a big deal. This particular plant (called needles cauliflower ) takes 220 days to produce the
cauliflower and basically over winters outside first in a cold frame, then around March
I put them inside the greenhouse where they can flourish.
This year I had three that made it out of four, which isn't bad. Below you can see
the three plants still in our greenhouse and the one on the left has the first cauliflower
on it. I stuck them up against a side wall so as not to be in the way of the tomatos
which were put in much later-like about two months ago. And all these plants
were from seed only.
And here I am, Damaghosa das, proudly showing off my first cauliflower, this year,
like a proud parent at his kid's graduation ceremony.
Ok now see the text below as to why this IS a big deal !!
